As far as clever alliterations go, “Brews and Blooms” is certainly up there.

On the first day of fall, September 22nd, the San Antonio Botanical Garden once again teamed up with San Antonio Cerveceros for an evening of flowers and local craft beers. Guests enjoyed more than 40 different beers from over 20 different breweries, with musical accompaniment from San Antonio’s own Jeff Jacobs Band, catering from Fresh Horizons for Premium ticket holders, and a convoy of food trucks from Chela’s Tacos, Fat Tummy Empanadas, and others for the rest.

You can see the entire food, drink, and entertainment lineup here.

Austin may have the reputation of being a hipster’s paradise, but San Antonio has quickly developed into a craft brewery powerhouse in its own right, and the Botanical Garden has done a terrific job of spreading the word with 13 Brews and Blooms events, all the while raising money for one of the city’s most beautiful attractions. Top marks all around.
